Cyberpunk 2077: Why you should be excited

The start of a new year is here, and with it, comes the excitement of the new year’s game releases. This year has SO many big names coming out. We have Final Fantasy 15, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, The Division, Doom, Mass Effect Andromeda… I could go on and on. But the one game that […]

When other females online find out I’m a gamer, I normally get asked this one question; Are you a feminist? You would think that a female gamer of all people would be riding the feminist bandwagon. I don’t. Actually, I’m one of those people who sorta kinda dislikes feminism in it’s current philosophy. Now, before some […]

Game-a-Thoners: Making a Difference Through Gaming

I have been working on all sorts of great art projects lately, but the one that’s really near and dear to my heart is this one! The Game-a-Thoner’s is a bunch of guys who do regular gaming Marathons of new games in order to raise money for children’s charities! They also give their donors a […]

Game Over for Game Stores?

I know it’s hard for people to even fathom the end to brick and mortar video game stores, but the truth is in the numbers. In 2012, Consoles (all types) plunged by 21% According to NPD Group, physical game sales fell from $11 billion in 2011 to less than $9 billion last year. GameStop says […]

The Evolution of Gaming: Digital Age

Now that the dust is starting to settle on the Xbox One and the mob is slowly dispersing, I think it’s a good time to start a calmer and more rational look on the future of gaming and why it is that gamers are not ready for a fully digital age. Most of us […]

Lots of great maps! All that fun […]

Crossing Ts

I’m very excited! Recently, I’ve been working with the Indie Game developer of Strange Games for an update to one of his Xbox indie games. He has been wonderful to work with and it was a very exciting and fun project! I can’t wait to share it with everyone when it goes live sometime next […]

Learning Experience

One of my new projects has me very excited because I’m doing something I’ve never done before. Sprites! Well, not the little fairy type people with wings, but the video game term.  For those of you who don’t know, a sprite is the moving objects in a video game. Up till recently, I’ve never attempted […]

Busy Busy!

As the title says, things have been really busy for me as of late. Juggling projects and a nine month old isn’t easy. Thank God for my husband. He has been a Godsend these past few days helping me when he’s at home. He is such a good father and husband. I’m a lucky girl! […]

About Regina Ratliff a.k.a ‘Scout’

I’m a mother, wife, illustrator and part-time blogger.
I have been drawing fantasy and sci-fi since I was young. I play D&D and am a huge video game nerd.  Currently, I am working with some amazing Indie Game Developers!
(HIRE ME PLEASE! *cough* )
I also do Character portraits of D&D characters, posters of Gamer’s characters from MMOs and other RPGs, as well as designing for private individuals. Pretty much anything really to keep me drawing and playing games!

I was born and raised in good ol’ Eastern Kentucky where art training was extremely sparse. I’ve had a few very cool mentors through my life on my very long ‘mostly self-taught’ road, (or what I like to say “World Taught”) but it’s been a great experience and journey meeting people and learning new things every day!
I love hearing from those who visit my blog and my website about both my artwork and writing. So please feel free to email me with any questions you might have or leave a comment if you feel so inclined.

May the Game be With You!
